OET Writing sub-test

This part of the OET reflects the normal written work you might do in your job. Each professional does a task based on what they might normally do in a typical workplace situation.

Writing a letter is an important job. You might be asked to write a referral letter, a letter of transfer, or a letter of discharge. You might also be asked to write a letter to support someone, like someone who needs care. To help you, you will be provided with all of the information you will need in your letter. The letter is marked on a number of criteria. The letter should be well organised, contain all the important information and nothing irrelevant, use appropriate language for the person you are writing to, and demonstrates good use of vocabulary and grammar. It's a lot to think about in 45 minutes, so practice is very important.
